Embrace Mental Health
the Not-So-Clinical Approach to Mental Health

Embrace Mental Health aims to serve as a resource which helps people embrace their mental health challenges with hope and confidence. We often approach the obstacles in our lives from a place of avoidance, denial, or even ignorance, especially with our mental health. We hope that by avoiding them, the problems will just disappear, but the vast majority of the time, that's not how it works. Embrace believes that when we face our challenges head on, deciding to look them in the eye and embrace the challenge, we can take more control and ownership of our journeys in the pursuit of mental health. Embrace is mentality.

Here at Embrace, we understand that one of the biggest barriers in the pursuit of mental health is the tendency for mental health resources and information to be overly technical and heady. We aim not to shy away from any mental health conversation or topic, but to engage in conversations and topics in a way that is down to earth, grounded, and accessible, no matter who you are or what you're dealing with. We certainly believe in clinical resources, and definitely encourage people to pursue therapy, medication, and to get the expertise from clinicians. But our goal is to have conversations that can help bridge gaps between information and understanding.

Pursuing mental health is hard work. It can be hard to build a hope that lasts, peace that perseveres, and goodness that stays through the storms. But we believe that it's possible, and that belief is what drives us to do what we do. We hope to be a part of the process that can help others to find the little things that help make their hope stronger, the right resources to make their peace fuller, and the voice that says, "You can do this. You can be okay again." We believe in keeping it real, but also coming from a perspective of hope. Because hope changes things.

Podcast Reviews

"I share the Embrace podcast with anyone I think will listen! Inevitably when I hear someone talking about a mental health struggle or question I will say, 'You know I was listening to a podcast about that...' And be able to share something one of you said. I feel like every episode is compassionate, researched, and framed for a general audience in a really accessible way. Thank you for sharing your time and experience with us, and keep up the great work! "

"Oh my goodness. Y’all. Thank you for this podcast. As a mom of a kiddo that struggles with mental health, these candid, down-to-earth conversations have helped me so much.

Kelsey, your story helped me understand a little better what it might feel like for him to struggle with anxiety/ depression. Sometimes as a caretaker the responsibility of caring for him, managing meds and therapies, and keeping him safe is overwhelming. Your story helped me find the compassion that’s gotten lost under my feeling of overwhelm. Thank you."
